The city makes up the itinerary
From Caeté to Santa Bárbara, Catas Atas, Mariana and Ouro Preto
One of the oldest towns of Minas Gerais, Caeté has a rich historical, cultural and environmental heritage. Part of its artistic and architectural heritage, dating back to the rich past, is still well maintained. As an examplewe have the Church of Our Lady of GoodSuccess, where the Master Aleijadinho began his career. Other good options are the Regional Museum and the Museum Casa Joao Pinheiro (Tinoco Solar)from the eighteenth century.
As a beautiful frame for the city, the Serra da Piedade is a major tourist, religious and environmental landmark of Minas Gerais. On its top there is still a unique historic buildingpreserved, the simple church of Our Lady of Mercy, home of one of the biggest religious festivals of Minas Gerais, attracting every year thousands of pilgrims.
Caeté has also the fun Bloco Boi da Manta , during Carnival, the folk Congado of Our Lady of the Rosary, the Alps Festival (off-road race), the Winter Carnival and Cavalhada of OurLady of Nazareth, the District of Morro Vermelho. A region full of stories and adventures, whether in stories or those who are yet to be written.
