Sacramento has a history of its rise linked to the exploitation of their region by expeditions in search of mineral wealth. In the early eighteenth century the Santíssimo Sacramento along with the Patrocínio de Maria Chapel was built, around which the city grew. The chapel was modified over the years and today it is the impressive Nossa Senhora do Patrocínio do Santíssimo Sacramento Mother Church.
The Gruta (cave) dos Palhares Municipal Park is the main natural attraction of the destination. The park is home to the cave with a Botucatu sandstone rock formation and was discovered in the nineteenth century. Its 22 meter high and 450 meters deep. The Jaguara Dam and the Serra da Canastra National Park with the Cachoeira Parida Waterfall are other outstanding natural attractions.
In the cultural and historical attraction areas, Sacramento offers the Colégio Allan Kardec (Allan Kardec School), which houses the Corina Novelino Museum, the Nossa Senhora do Patrocínio do Santíssimo Sacramento, the Nossa Senhora do Desterro do Desemboque and the Nossa Senhora do Rosário Mother Churches.
