Santana do Riacho

The city emerged in the eighteenth century around a small chapel built on the site. It has grown and today is called Santana do Riacho. The city is gifted with several archaeological sites, which are part of the “Great Archeological area of ​​Lagoa Santa” that prove human existence in the area for more than 10,000 years. Some of thesesites are in the National Park of Serra do Cipo, the main attraction destination, which also has rivers, canyons, cliffs, waterfalls, lakes and significant flora and fauna.
