Here you feel at home
Small and grassy streets, old houses, with just a handful more than 600 residents and the Itambe Peak in the background composing this magical setting: this is Capivari, a small community hidden between Diamantina and Serro. Rich in natural beauties, with waterfalls and trails that cross the preserved rocky fields of the Serra do Espinhaço, Capivara is a perfect destination for those who want to have a quiet life in a place lost in time. Here accommodation is provided by the residents, who happily open their houses for visitors who want an immersion to the local way of life. The cuisine also captures visitors for its grocery stalls, gum cookies, bagels baked in banana leaf, and of course the traditional cheese of Serro. The meals are always delicious and highly anticipated after long hikes. It’s all very simple, but it’s made with love, generosity and originality. Of one thing you can be certain: this exchange to a different way of life is the most special part of the trip.
