Unaí arose and grew around a church, school and house constructed by Domingos Pinto Brochado on the Capim Branco Farm, which belonged to his father Alferes Antônio Pinto Brochado. The region is blessed with a variety of waterfalls, with highlights including Jiboia, Pilão, Rio Preto and Zico Esteves. The caves of Tamboril, Gentio, Sapezal and Pedra da Fartura are also essential stops for visitors who wish to connect with nature. On the cultural front, the churches of Santo Antônio, Matriz de Nossa Senhora da Conceição and the JK and Santuário Squares all form part of Unaí’s historical heritage.

Travel Tips: Tourists who enjoy adventure will find great places for climbing and canyoneering in Pedra da Fartura and at the Jibóia Waterfall.
